 Trio Del Rio challenges classification, combining swingin’, jazzy, bluesy, latin,

R&B, folk and Texas styles. The group's essence is captured in MaryAnn Price’s

grace and freedom, MariLisa’s soulful distinctive voice and Tanner Swain’s smooth

vocals and tasty guitar work.  Their songs textured with rich vocal landscapes that are unforgettable with a wide variety of storytelling songs that  the listener can relate to. Within the group everyone sings lead on a third of the songs and with the three part harmonies and tight unisons; it balances an eclectic mix of songs and emotions. 

Tanner Swain is a University of North Texas Graduate who his mother says was “making up songs in his crib.”  Singing and performing in numerous choirs, ensembles at UNT, and around Austin, his immense knowledge of music is second nature.   His songs pull the listener in from off the street.

MariLisa was taking vocal coaching from MaryAnn when late great Texas Music specialist/Producer Tary Owens decided to produce MariLisa’s 2002 CD “Take a Chance” (Favela Records). MariLisa and Tanner met during a songwriter circle in Austin in 1998. They have been making/performing beautiful music ever since. But Tanner and Marilisa had to hire Maryann Price to finally get her to listen to Tanner’s original songs! Ms Price’s reaction to Swain’s song “Whats to Say” was “You got any MORE like that?” Price is a veteran vocalist who has recorded and toured with Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Asleep at the Wheel and The Kinks, to name the famous. She has seven solo CDs. She coaches, produces, performs, records and arranges vocal harmonies with a strong, recognizable sound. Trio Del Rio’s essence is a jazzy cocktail made with MaryAnn Price’s Grace and humor, relentless guitar of MariLisa’s soulful Texas Spirit, genre-bending songwriter/lead guitarist Tanner Swain’s clarity of voice and unique guitar work.
